With this project I collaborated with the Civic Association from Plympton St Maurice, a small village on the outskirts of Plymouth, in Devon. I was tasked with creating a series of different designs to replace the already existing tourist information boards dotted around the village which were a bit worse for wear.
Final Designs
Plympton Castle Board
An information board for Plympton Castle, an ancient Motte and Bailey castle in the centre of the village
People of Plympton Board
A board exploring the range of different notable people who were from Plympton, including famous artist Joshua Reynolds
Dorsmouth Rock
The information board is in a park overlooking the rock

Dorsmouth Rock rough
Early rough for People of Plympton Board
I wanted to experiment with ways that I could show a range of different people in one illustration
Second rough for People of Plympton Board
Early rough for castle board
Showing key features of the castle
A further rough for the castle board
As there was so much information regarding this castle, it was a challenge to incorporate it all onto one board
Final rough for castle board
My final design resembles an explorer’s notebook, a fun and interesting way to incorporate the text and imagery
